Wow, it is almost Christmas. Seems like it was just yesterday that I was gathering the supplies for school to start and now here we are putting up decorations and getting ready for the holiday season. Last week was Thanksgiving so as you might have noted there was not a post for school. We took the whole week off.
These next couple of weeks we are in a whirl wind of things to do. Between the couple of choirs I teach and art class as well as many performances for myself to sing at I am on the go. And of course what would happen to me right now? laryngitis. Bummer. So all my rehearsals I am quietly learning the music for all the upcoming performances! Anyway, this post will be short and sweet. I am going to just Post the pictures from our week and a few short words on our lessons this week. Next week I will take more time to write a post on what we are learning.
In history we are currently moving towards England and how the English people came to be, and all the invasions that led up to Britain becoming Britain. It is quite fascinating. I don’t remember learning this in school. I am sure we did, but now as an adult it is more interesting then when you are a kid just learning facts and having to take a test on it every week. This is all actually is leading us into our geography. WE are still in Europe and filling in our map and learning where many of the countries are. So funny, I am not by any means a person who knows where countries are on the map, but I now know at least the vicinity of most European countries now. The kids? Well, still confused on some of those small ones, but getting better and better. We will continue to do this geography next year so we can get real good at it!
Science we are getting into the Big Cats. The first things we learned this week was about how they are able to camouflage themselves as well as the difference between the spots on a leopard, jaguar and cheetah Of course since our house has a lot of animal print in it I thought it would be fun to go around the house and see which animal is depicted in the print on some of our furniture and pillows.
Bible is currently teaching us that God is the creator and how we can see that in the things around us and why we were created. Why did God have us? Not because he needed us. Do we need to have children? No, we have them because we want to. Same with God. We are also starting to talk about the fall and why there is so much sin in the world. It should be an interesting week next week.
OK, well, as promised very short and sweet this week. Have a fantastic week and we will catch you on the flip side!
