E-Homeschooling: Embracing the E-book Revolution

Now I have written a couple articles on e-books and my feelings on them. But I will take a moment to recap. I love them to a certain degree. I think having a reading book or a small unit or theme study is great. But when it comes down to a full year of curriculum. No way. The cost to print out everything you need is equal to that of paying for the actual hard copy. I also truly believe to have a collection of e-books like I do (over 500) you have to have a laptop or an e-book reader. A desk top is not flexible enough. Now I chose to have a mini lap top so I can do more on a $300 machine then just read a book. And yes, I am currently typing my review on it. Oh and I can fit my mini in my purse. But there still lies the question of what do I do with all those e-books? How do I organize them? I have come up with many of my own answers, but then I got the opportunity to read an e-book about e-books. I wish this e-book was around a few years back when I started buying e-books. I had to figure it out the hard way. Trial and error.
Anyway, the e-book is called E-Homeschooling: Embracing the E-book evolution. She was exactly right along with all the ideas and tips I have been incorporating into my e-book home schooling. Her book was really straight forward and right to the point without all the fluff and extra wording some writers put in. I like that especially with help books. She answered subjects along the lines of “Why Buy E-books?”, How to use those E-Books in your home schooling, Organizing all of them so you know what you have and where to find them, Where to buy them and how to get a whole bunch of them free and then she even touches on publishing them too.
I think her e-book was wonderful and so very helpful to those who are just starting to think about e-books or are collecting them and they are starting to get so many they are getting out of hand. .If you pick up her book and read through it you could have your e-book collection all organized by this evening.
I love e-books. I love free e-books even more and we do a lot of studies through e-books. Whenever we do special theme studies it is through all those e-books I get. Right now we are doing a study of the continents and all the countries in each continent. 75% of all the information and ideas and lessons have come from a combination a several e-books I have collected over the years.
If you are thinking about starting an e-book collection or have a few and want to know what to do with them, I highly suggest picking up a copy of E-Homeschooling: Embracing the E-book Revolution. It sells at The Old Schoolhouse for FREE. Now there is no reason for you not to finally get your collection organized and ready to be used in your home school this weekend.
